In true Love Is Project tradition, we were incredibly inspired by Colombia’s history, culture, and people. Our colorful LOVE bracelets are handmade by an artisan family from Tuchin, known for their woven sombrero hats. They recently evolved into creating bracelets. Each cuff is made with cana fleche, a tall grass which is sliced into thin strips, dried, colored and then woven into LOVE bracelets. Our Colombia Collection also features our first ever bag line. These unique, technicolor dream bags hail from San Jacinto, Colombia, renowned for its rich history of artisanal textile design and production.
Jewelry and clutches inspired by the Gateway to South America. Colombia is known for its rich biodiversity, and these bracelets were crafted with tough Colombian grasses by women artisans
Our artisans are the indigenous Embera Chami community of tribes who have shared their heritage crafts through five generations. Inspired by the Rainbow River, they weave these colors into their wares and fabrics. Your purchase will greatly help the indigenous Embera-Chami artisans tribe who is currently in exile from their ancestral site occupied by the guerrilla and paramilitaries who harass the women and young men into joining the insurgent groups
We’re working with an artisan family in Tuchin (known for their woven sombrero hats) to bring you these vibrant cuff-style LOVE bracelets. The process of creating these bright colors and patterns is exacting: cana fleche (a tall grass native to Colombia) is sliced into thin strips and dried before being dyed and woven using traditional techniques.
Cartagena was an (albeit touristy) dream of perfect colonial streets, brilliant colors, blasting salsa and merengue music, and some of the most fabulous looking women I’ve ever seen on one city’s streets. Highlights: eating street arepas, shooting lifestyle photos at sunset around Cartagena’s vibrant alleyways and flower-bedecked terraces, and seeing the countryside, farmland, and small town life through our five and a half hour car ride to Tuchín, an artisan village outside of Cartagena.
